A Natural Approach to Under-Eye Rejuvenation

PRF EzGel now available in Louisville

If you catch yourself zooming in on your under-eyes in every photo, you’re not alone. For a lot of people, the under-eye area is the first place that starts to look tired—even after great sleep. Hollows can cast shadows, thin skin can look crepey, and dark circles can feel impossible to cover.

Part of the reason is anatomy and collagen loss over time. The under-eye skin is naturally thinner than other areas of the face, and as collagen, elastin, and structural support decline, that delicate area can become more transparent and less resilient. Volume loss can also create a hollowed transition under the eyes, which makes shadows look darker and more noticeable.

The frustrating part is that many solutions feel like a compromise. Some patients want to avoid fillers. Others have tried eye creams and concealer, only to feel like the issue is happening under the surface.

EZ Gel (also called PRF EZ Gel) is a different approach: natural, patient-derived, and designed to support gradual improvement. As a bio-stimulating injectable,  EZ Gel helps rebuild support in the under-eye area by using your body’s own growth factors to encourage collagen production, improve skin thickness and elasticity, and soften hollowing over time. At Radiance Medspa, we use it to restore a smoother under-eye transition while supporting natural-looking rejuvenation—so you still look like you, just more rested.

What is EzGel (PRF EzGel)?

EzGel is a bio-stimulating injectable made from your own blood components. The goal isn’t to “inflate” the under-eye—it's to create subtle volume support and deliver regenerative biostimulation that helps improve skin quality over the weeks that follow.

Because it’s derived from your own blood (autologous), many patients like it as an option for delicate areas like the tear trough where a natural look matters most.

How to Prepare for PRF EzGel

Before treatment, tell your provider about your medical history, blood disorders, clotting issues, immune conditions, pregnancy status, recent illness, active infection, prior under-eye filler, history of bruising, and medications or supplements that may increase bleeding or bruising. Your provider may recommend avoiding alcohol, strenuous exercise, and certain blood-thinning medications or supplements before treatment when medically appropriate. Arrive well hydrated and with clean skin.

Do not stop prescription medications unless the prescribing clinician tells you to.

How does EzGel work?

The treatment is performed in-office and follows a straightforward process:

  1. A small blood draw (similar to routine lab work).
  2. Centrifugation to separate and isolate platelet-rich fibrin (PRF).
  3. Albumin gel formation: a portion of your plasma rich in albumin is heated and cooled in a controlled way to create a smooth gel—no added chemicals for the gelling step.
  4. Mixing: PRF is combined with the albumin gel to form EZ Gel.
  5. Precision injection into the under-eye/tear trough area using technique selected for your anatomy.

In simple terms: EZ Gel acts like a soft scaffold, and the PRF portion supports a gradual regenerative response. Patients typically see change building over several weeks.

What does EzGel help with under the eyes?

EzGel is most often used to address concerns like:

  • Under-eye hollows / tear troughs that create shadowing
  • Thin or crepey under-eye texture (skin quality support)
  • A “tired” look even when you feel fine
  • A preference for a natural alternative instead of synthetic filler materials

During your consultation, we’ll look at what’s actually creating the under-eye concern (volume, skin thickness, pigmentation, vascular show-through, or a mix) and recommend the best plan.

Is PRF EzGel Only for Under-Eyes?

At Radiance Louisville, PRF EzGel is featured primarily for the under-eye and tear trough area because that is where subtle support and skin-quality improvement can be especially valuable. Depending on anatomy and goals, PRF-based treatments may also be discussed for areas such as fine lines, cheeks, smile lines, or overall skin quality. Your provider will recommend whether EzGel, traditional PRF, filler, Sculptra, or another treatment is better suited for each area.

What Type of Under-Eye Concern Do You Have?

Dark circles are not all caused by the same issue. PRF EzGel may be helpful when shadowing is caused by under-eye hollowing, thin skin, crepey texture, or early loss of collagen support. If the darkness is mainly caused by pigmentation, visible blood vessels, allergies, puffiness, or lower-lid fat pads, a different or combined plan may be more appropriate. During your consultation, Radiance evaluates whether your concern is volume-related, skin-quality related, pigment-related, vascular, or structural.

EzGel vs under-eye filler: what’s the difference?

Traditional under-eye filler is usually designed for immediate volume correction using a manufactured gel (commonly hyaluronic acid). EzGel is typically chosen by patients who like the idea of using their own blood-derived components.

That said, this isn’t “one is always better.” Some patients do great with filler. Others are better suited for EzGel—or a phased plan that prioritizes skin quality first. The best choice depends on anatomy, skin thickness, goals, and risk tolerance in the tear trough area.

PRF EzGel vs. PRP, PRF, Under-Eye Filler, and Sculptra

PRP and PRF are platelet-based treatments that use your own blood components to support repair and regeneration. PRF is often described as having a fibrin matrix and slower release of regenerative factors than PRP. PRF EzGel adds an albumin gel component to create a smoother injectable gel for subtle support. Under-eye filler typically provides more immediate volume using hyaluronic acid, but it may not be right for every tear trough. Sculptra stimulates collagen more broadly and is usually used for facial volume and skin-quality support, not as a precise under-eye filler replacement.

How long do EzGel results take, and how long do they last?

EzGel is not usually an instant “big change” treatment. Many patients begin noticing improvement in 1–2 weeks, with peak results around 4–6 weeks as collagen support builds.

Results typically last up to 12 months and our providers recommend a series of sessions spaced a 4-6 weeks apart for best outcomes.

Why a Series Is Recommended

PRF EzGel is usually planned as a series because the goal is gradual biostimulation, not a single-session dramatic fill. The first treatment begins the regenerative process, the second and third sessions help build support and skin-quality improvement, and maintenance helps preserve results over time. Your provider may adjust the number of sessions based on tear trough depth, skin thickness, bruising tendency, timeline, and whether other treatments are part of the plan.

Is there downtime after EzGel?

Most patients plan for possible mild swelling or bruising around the injection sites. Many return to normal activities quickly, with common-sense precautions and aftercare guidance.

If you have a major event coming up, we’ll help you time your treatment so you feel confident.

Mild redness, tenderness, or swelling can appear around injection sites.

Swelling may be most noticeable, especially in the morning. Bruising can appear.

Puffiness and fullness often begin settling; some patients may still have visible bruising or yellowish discoloration.

Week 1–2: Most visible swelling or bruising has improved for many patients, though healing varies.

Improvement in skin quality and support becomes more noticeable as collagen response builds.

Maintenance: A series of treatments may be recommended first, followed by maintenance as needed.

PRF EzGel Aftercare

After treatment, avoid rubbing, pressing, or massaging the under-eye area unless your provider specifically instructs you to. For the first 24–48 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, hot yoga, excessive heat, alcohol, and direct sun exposure. Sleep with your head slightly elevated the first night if you tend to swell. Use gentle skincare and follow Radiance’s instructions about when to resume actives, makeup, or other treatments.

Who is a good candidate for EzGel?

Best fit:

  • Mild to moderate under-eye hollows or tear trough shadowing
  • Thin, crepey, or tired-looking under-eye skin
  • Patients who want gradual improvement rather than instant filler-like volume
  • Patients who prefer an autologous treatment made from their own blood components
  • Patients open to a series of treatments and maintenance

May not be ideal:

  • Significant fat pads or under-eye bags
  • Deep tear trough deformity needing more structural support
  • Dark circles caused mainly by pigment or vascular color
  • Active infection or irritation near the injection area
  • Certain blood-related conditions or medical considerations
  • Patients who want immediate, dramatic volume correction

PRF EzGel is not a one-size-fits-all under-eye fix. It works best when the concern matches what the treatment can realistically improve: skin quality, subtle support, and gradual biostimulation

Safety, Side Effects & Under-Eye Injection Risks.

Because PRF EzGel is made from your own blood components, allergy risk is generally low. However, it is still an injectable treatment. Temporary effects can include swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, under-eye fullness, lumpiness, yellowish discoloration, or asymmetry while the area settles. Less common risks can include prolonged swelling, infection, irregular texture, unsatisfactory cosmetic outcome, or the need for additional correction or a different treatment plan.

The under-eye area is delicate and anatomy-dependent. Radiance evaluates skin thickness, tear trough depth, lower-lid bags, vascular show-through, prior filler, bruising tendency, medical history, and risk tolerance before recommending EzGel.

FAQs About EzGel / PRF EzGel

prf-ezgel-filler-co-2

How is EzGel different from PRP?

PRF is commonly described as using a process that preserves a fibrin matrix and can support a slower release of regenerative factors compared with PRP approaches.

Does EzGel help with dark circles?

If the “dark circle” is mainly shadowing from hollows, soft volume support can help. If it’s pigmentation or vascular show-through, you may need a blended plan.

How many treatments will I need?

EZGel treatments are performed in a series of 3 to build initial results and then maintenance treatments are performed as needed – usually in 12 months.

Is EzGel safe?

Because it’s derived from your own blood components, it’s commonly positioned as a low allergy-risk option; typical short-term effects include swelling and bruising.

When should I schedule it if I have an event?

Conservatively, allow a couple of weeks for healing and early improvement—longer if you bruise easily.

How much does EzGel cost?

PRF EzGel pricing depends on whether we are treating under-eyes only or combining areas, how many sessions are recommended, and whether the plan includes complementary treatments such as filler, laser, microneedling, or skincare. Because PRF EzGel is commonly planned as a series, Radiance will explain both the per-session cost and the full recommended treatment-plan cost before you begin.

Why is a combination approach often best for under-eye concerns?

EZ Gel is an excellent option for improving under-eye texture and hollowing, but many patients benefit most when it’s used in combination with other treatments. That’s because under-eye concerns can involve skin quality, volume loss, pigmentation, and facial structure at the same time. Our goal is to build the right plan for your anatomy so your results look natural, balanced, and worth the investment.

Why Provider Technique Matters Under the Eyes

The under-eye area is one of the most anatomy-sensitive areas to treat. Your Radiance provider evaluates tear trough depth, skin thickness, lower-lid support, puffiness, vascular show-through, facial balance, prior filler, and bruising risk before recommending PRF EzGel. The goal is not to overfill the area, but to create subtle support while preserving a natural under-eye transition.

Radiance Medspa offers PRF EzGel in downtown Louisville, Colorado, for patients from Louisville, Boulder, Lafayette, Superior, Erie, Broomfield, and surrounding Boulder County communities. Our Main Street location makes it convenient for patients looking for natural-looking under-eye rejuvenation close to home.

EZGel Real-World Results: Treatment Scenarios

  • Under-eye hollowing: Patient wanted a softer tear trough transition without traditional filler. Treatment plan included a 3-session PRF EzGel series spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
  • Thin, crepey texture: Patient’s main concern was skin quality rather than deep volume loss. Treatment focused on gradual under-eye support and collagen stimulation.
  • Dark circles with mixed causes: Patient had both hollowing and pigment-related darkness. Radiance recommended PRF EzGel for support plus a separate pigment-focused plan.
